The mosque, the tomb and all surrounding buildings are renovated by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency which is the official development aid organization of Republic of Turkey.

It is the first mosque in Ethiopia and probably in Africa. It commemorates the first Muslim emigration (even before Medina) to Ethiopia (Abyssinia) and the Just king who sheltered them. You will also find the grave of the companion of the Prophet (PBUH).

Subhan Allah! Prophet Muhammad ( P.B.U.H ) asked the Sahabas to migrate to Habasha because the Prophet believed that this King Negashi is a truthful person and also is brave and kind hearted and helpful as well.... May Allah reward king Negashi a place in Jannah al Firdaus. AMEEN!
