It's a place where Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido church Annual festivals are held. Tha 'Holy Cross Day' or 'Meskel' and Epiphany or 'Timiket' celebrated here. A year back this place recognized as monastery by Abune Abreham Archbishop of Bahir Dar and Metekel and there is a church where 'kidan' or Morning Pray practiced daily.

It is a place where orthodox Christian celebrate epiphany(ጥምቀት) and the finding of true cross (መስቀል) and prepare religious events.
