Gorgeous Fine Foods

A good shop but currently very disappointing covid safety compliance. Masks usually under their chins and removed, if on, to sneeze. Not safe.

Let me just share my experience at Gorgeous store today. I ordered my usual dairy products and prosciutto and in the mean time I start wondering around and if they have something new while he’s slicing my cheese, salami and prosciutto. So before it’s done something catch my eyes he let one person pass me without even asking my permission but I let it slide. Wow! I turned around and asked the guy why he chopped the prosciutto as I ordered a slice. I told him specifically I didn’t want that one and asked if he can exchange and kept on my other shoppings. So as I was paying I started checking on the stuff that I have purchased and noticed that “prosciutto” was there! I didn’t understand what was going on and I explained the cashier and her assistant. Pretty much they couldn’t do anything bout it and I couldn’t understand since all of them were talking in a different language. Then the same guy came screaming in a different language and I explained to him I speak perfect Amharic and he should talk to me in Amharic as he was talking to me earlier. He was so out off line and very disrespectful! I don’t know how they let their staff talk to customers like this. Hey this is not a country side or the suburb, its the capital. The least he could have done is apologize and offer another one! I would have taken it.

Definitely deserves a 5 star rating for its size and convenience.

Terrible staff. This was a while ago but I don't know if it was because I was habesha or what but felt like I was being watched and the lady who I asked to help me ignored me at first till I went up to her and spoke loud enough that she couldn't pretend to not hear me. She was very rude and dismissive. I left without buying anything.

I get my breads from this store among other things. They have a deli counter, a nice collection of imported wines, imported pastas, and other Italian goods.
