Musée Mémorial des combats de la Poche de Colmar

For absolute professionals/enthusiasts only. No information whatsoever: bunch of collected artefacts (dozens of helmets and guns). I see why most museums are failing to attract audience. You won't know more than you already knew when you leave the museum. Pity. So many things to show, tell and explain.

Small but very interesting museum. Value for money and thumbs up for the information being present in French and Englis.

Colmar is a beautiful little village. The museum of the battle of the Colmar Pocket is very moving as is the Audie Murphy monument a short distance away. I enjoyed every moment I was there. The bombed out church with the wall of the dead from WWI and WWII is very sobering. IT reminds us of man's inhumanity to man.

The museum was closed "for the season,"we were told by a woman working in the archive next door. The museum website states they are open from 14:00 to 18:00 Monday through Friday with longer weekend hours. I'd suggest calling first to make sure it is open if you go in the off season.
