You book the car and expect to pick it up when at the time shown on the receipt ? That’s not how it works with Avis !! You have to wait 2 hours for them to get the car ready ! If you don’t want you can pay more to get upgraded and get one which is ready. I had an issue with the fuel, I tried to call them, obviously you reach a global hotline, which is closed but still charges you for an automated voicemail. And the fuel price with Avis on top of the service charge is about 3x the normal price. I’m sure the agents are incentivised to rip you off by charging you every single possible extra.

Ridiculous place. I was quoted €1,001 (very insistent on the 1 not just 1000 too) for a Fiat 500X for ONE day. Simply ridiculous. Staff totally unhelpful.

Lifelong Avis customer, have been exclusive to them for 10 years+ Just overcharged €350. On a 5 day hire! Customer service average to poor. Inexcusable. Avoid. Will try Sixt instead.

We waited in line 65 minutes to get our car. And I'm a Preferred customer. Only about 5 people in front of us. I don't understand why it should ever be so slow.
