Maison Calas

The house and the old Calas store are of little architectural interest. You can only see the long entrance hall, common passage, and the outside of the room where the son Calas hanged himself. Here is its attraction and, therefore, Heritage Day and the unique moment to visit it. This house of historical interest is the beginning of a sordid story that an association of passionate people tells. These events inspired Voltaire's "Treatise on Tolerance".

We were unable to visit the Calas apartment during the European Heritage Days, however the guide was very friendly and he explained the story to the most interested.
