Unfortunately, there is no zero because this establishment deserves nothing!! My son badly dislocated his shoulder yesterday and was taken by ambulance to Bel-Air hospital. He was admitted to the pediatric emergency and that's when the horror started (again...not our first time in this hell hole....the previous time, I discharged him myself and went elsewhere which I couldn't do this time because the pain was too bad). My son was in extreme pain and needed an x-ray and the personnel from the pediatric x-ray service would not allow me to acompany him into the x-ray room. I told them that when he broke a rib in February, we were also "unfortunate" enough to end up at Bel Air by ambulance but that I was allowed to go with him for the x-ray. According to the skinny tall man (no name was provided when I asked) who works at the x-ray department in the pediatric emergency room, it was the hospital's protocol that parents do not accompany their children into the room. He told me (in French) that if I continued, he would have me thrown out...when I said that I would love to see him try just so that I could call my lawyer, he shut up. I managed to help my son with the x-rays (difficult positions where some extra hands provide much needed support) and he was immediately put through to the operation room for surgery. I was not given any information about where to wait, where to go, what would happen, etc. until the most kind anesthesiologist came to speak with me to get my son's medical background (date 02/05/2019 at 13:00) - again, I did not get his name but he was the most kind doctor to both my son and I. Unlike in Luxembourg, parents are not allowed to be in the wake-up room with their children...so I just stayed by the one entrance where patients go in and out and waited in front of the door until he finally came out. We were brought to the pediatric ward and were told by the nurses that the surgeon (with whom I had not spoken to before or after the operationn and still haven't seen) had said that as my son was put to sleep, he would have to spend one night at the hospital but I had already had a long discussion with the anesthesiologist that I did not want my son to stay at this hospital overnight. The nurses called the anesthesiologist and he told them that we should stay for 2-3 hours to see if all was okay and then we could leave!! After the operation, he had to have another x-ray and I was ready for another fight. However, this time, we went to the "non-emergency" section of the hospital and much to my surprise, there was no such thing as a protocal and there was no issue in me accompanying my son to take the additional x-rays. This hospital gives me the creeps. There is no communication between departments, an intern came into the room to check my son when he was in the pediatric section after the operation, he did not look at me, did not introduce himself to us and just started checking my son....I loudly said..."and YOU are?????" - unfortunately, many doctors (not all) have lost that human touch to provide a bit of comfort and care to their patients. Also a bit of politeness goes a long way. It's unfortunate that we happen to live in France, just on the border of Luxembourg which means that when an ambulance is called, it goes straight to Bel Air in Thionville. If the injury wasn't so bad, I would certainly take my chance to cross the border into Schengen and call the ambulance from there just to avoid this hospital.... ...and don't tell me that French nurses are overworked...the entire time we were there, between 5 - 10 nurses / doctors were sitting in the common room chatting. An utter disgrace....

Top maternity staff, professional, respectful, human. Really nothing to say about their professionalism, a big thank you for everything! The new motherhood is very beautiful. Opening soon. I highly recommend.

I cannot put 0, too bad because 0 at all levels ... I made hospitals, I made emergencies but the gynecological emergencies of Thionville are very poor, I was bleeding in the ward. waiting to put it everywhere ... No help, no internal compassion ... I left tired without having seen anyone. The intern gave me back my blood group card as if she was saying "that makes 1 less". I don't know if we can recommend an Emergency Department or not. When you go it's not by choice but really if you can avoid it, better go elsewhere.

The maternity service and gynecological emergencies are for me at the top of the relationship. Certainly all the temperaments are there but I am sincerely happy to have been there for my two deliveries. We feel very good there despite the hospital being old but for me it is not the most important and anyway it will soon be a welcome in a new maternity, so the two combined it will be even better. Thank you all for your heart to everyone ..
