The headframe is one of the most symbolic places in Rimogne with a very unique history. It is highlighted around a place where you can either wander calmly or have fun with your children. It is unfortunate not to have a well shaded space ...

A landscaped picnic tables and umbrella trees will complete the venue.

Worth seeing. The "Chevalement", an emblematic element of Rimogne, located in the heart of the village, is the only building of this style that exists in the Champagne-Ardenne region. When the slate basin after the Second World War showed serious signs of exhaustion, the slate firm decided to resume production in the recently quashed Saint Quentin pit. In order to modernize the pit, an iron winding tower manufactured by Venot was installed and inaugurated on December 4, 1961 in the presence of Mr. Marty. From now on, the slate workers descend with a lift with a winch at the top of the scaffolding to 120 meters. Less than ten years after the inauguration, the slate quarries of Rimogne were closed. The mining tower and all remains of the slate industry were finally bought back for the symbolic euro in 2011. The Saint Quentin site is then cleared and decorated. In 2014, silhouettes of slate workers by Hubert Pauget will be installed on the site, where visitors will be able to walk along a path where various photos of the pit's past will be presented.
