Revolution Square Fountain, Besançon

Beautiful fountain produced by Alphonse Delacroix, and had been inside the square since 1854. Most striking is its elegant features inside this magnificent square named after the French Revolution. The square had been a market for a long time until redesigned and renamed. There's signs of damage on the basin but otherwise a magnificent focal point of this historic square. Worth a look.

This place has evolved well over time, nice at Christmas with the market and the Ferris wheel

Very nice place! The city center of Besançon keeps its charm. It is very nice to walk around. I recommend this place.

The fountains are deactivated due to a hydrological crisis (drought) by decision of the departmental services.

Nice square with cafes, the market, the tram that passes, and it is right next to the Doubs.
