Camping Saint Léon sur Vézère

No frills camping next to Vézère river. Better call and reserve your spot even if it's just a municipal camping. Children like it too when they are swimmers. It's a canoe station so expect some boat handling in the high season in the morning.

Beautiful and at the same time very close to the village. Individual camping-places are rather big and the closeness to the Vézère makes it feel natural. It it is very simple though, but if one doesn't mind, it is definitely worth visiting.

Very pleasant situation as long as you can get a pitch with good shade (we did), on the banks of the Vezere and close to the village. Main downside is the proximity of a large dechetterie just the other side of the fence, resulting in swarms of flies which made some mealtimes unbearable in hot weather. Also having to buy jetons for the showers is antiquated and very irritating, especially as a dodgy timer can result in the hot water turning off when you are still well-soaped/shampooed.

A wonderful campsite on the bank of the Vezere almost in the delightful village of St Lyon sur Vesere and only a short distance from the cliff dwellings at La Roche St Christophe. The camping sites are flat and well placed and the bathrooms are modern and clean. The village is very pretty with an impressive Romanesque church. One of our favorite spots so far.

Peaceful yet close to the village. Best to pre book in the summer as it is cheap and popular. Plenty of places to eat nearby.
