Canoe Rapido - St Guilhem le Desert - Gorges de l'Hérault

Since mother nature handles most of a kayak/canoe experience, what were rating here is how well Canoe Rapido helps that along. A couple days ago I booked a simple 1 hour tour with them at Saint Guilhem Le Desert, and my girlfriend was given instructions by a distracted and rushed employee about where to meet up with the boat launch. The employee had poor English skills and my girlfriend (and I) have poor French skills, so the disconnect that prevented us from finding the boat launch was likely due to this. The employee said "go straight" and neglected to tell us to turn left over a major bridge, so we were off on a goose chase in no time. We called to get new directions and followed them and still couldn't find the "sign" or launch point. After driving around for an hour and half - longer than the tour itself would have been - and wasting a 1/4 tank of gas, we packed it in and asked for a refund. They granted it, to their credit. What I can't figure is why don't they have a map to show where the boat launch area is? Saint Guilhem has thousands of tourists per year and I'd bet a third of those have limited skills in French. A map provides a visual communication that can over come those linguistic shortcomings.

We have done the 4 km tour. Route was boring, next time we prefer a faster route. Good material an staff were friendly. Not sure if we will use this company again. All canoe companies seems to work the exactly the same.

Excellent canoeing experience! I had my own canoe and equipment, they were happy to accommodate in transferring me back to the start to pick up my car. Would highly recommend. Thanks guys!
