A superb building completely restored and the neighborhood that surrounds this place pays tribute to personalities Lievin who have marked the history of the city and more particularly Arthur Lamendin who was mayor of the city. It also houses a fresco depicting Jean Jaurès and François Mitterrand symbol of the political orientation of the city, which was once a prosperous working-class city thanks to the coal that the miners paid with their lives during a firedamp or many of them died today.
