One of the best collection I have seen describing the entire human evolution history. The collection is arranged is in the same order of evolution which makes the human history astonishing. The kids after visiting have understood main essence of human behaviour which is continuously evolving against the odds. The museum is very well maintained by professional and polite staff.
Very chill and relaxing museum with tons of artifacts from several different periods. Quiet and peaceful courtyard and gorgeous building. Highly recommend if you like quieter museums.
Extraordinary museum. The exhibition is structured chronologically. It is very well curated. It was amazing to witness the explosion of technology (especially medical) and culture upon entering the Roman halls. I’m planning to come back. The adjacent chateau, where James II spent his exile, should be visited as well.
Great place to kill time if you're into your history. Also the first Sunday of every month is free so try take advantage of this.
I cycled over 500 miles to visit this museum; it's got some iconic pieces of European prehistory within its walls, Neanderthal's, Venus statues, wonderous early cave art, Bronze age gold wizards hat's, Gallic iron age marvels, Roman angels, Merovingian garnet encrusted treasures. Having said that for such a large and richly storied nation I was left with a feeling of a general paucity of content and that somehow the prehistory is very under valued by this nation and is either held elsewhere, lost or discarded ? St Germain En Laye itself is a nice town, well provisioned with an array of shops, tres chic and quite charming. Most enjoyable, Merci.
