It is quite extraordinary in terms of location. You can visit Alexandre Dumas' Chateau and garden. You can have a nice walk through the numerous acres of garden. Enjoy a visit of the three floors of his Chateau, showing his taste for luxury and gastronomy. Fascinating. I recommend it for families and anyone curious about Alexandre Dumas

This is home of Three Musketeers author Alexander Dumas. Set high on a hill with a wooded area to one side. Nice gardens around the Chateau which is small by comparison to other Chateaux. There is a lovely small building overlooking the Chateau where the author wrote, it's a bit like a Hobbits house. In the summer months actors perform pieces from his books in period costume. Because access to chateau and surrounding woodland is very steep it is not suitable for those who are not mobile. Not great for pushchairs either. It is a hidden gem, well worth a visit.

We sadly didn't get to visit the castle as the directions to get there by car are not very clear on the website. If you follow Google you arrive at a non used gate on a busy road (avenue de John f Kennedy) we had to turn around and drive around for a bit before we parked on the side of a street and walk for 10 minutes. We arrived at the ticket office at 16.07 and they wouldn't let us in anymore (castle closes at 5pm). After driving away we found the way to the parking. You should drive onto avenue de l'europe and follow the road for a kilometre or 2 then there will be a sign that leads to the free parking on your left. Bit sad we didn't get to visit we still almost had an hour left we would have known to hurry a bit.

Historic and beautiful. Even had a tour done by fictional characters.
