Mairie de Ray-sur-Saône

This pretty village has many old houses and several interesting examples of vernacular heritage; in front of the church, there is a covered oval-shaped wash-house and a double-sided Calvary (17C). St-Pancras church (13C-18C), with its bell tower (imperial bell tower) with a typically Comtois bulb. the interior houses a beautiful "Entombment" of the Troyes school (early 16C) and, to the left of the choir (13C), a Christ with polychrome stone links (16C). The stone bas-relief of the altar is of Champagne influence and represents the Annunciation, the Nativity and the adoration of the Magi. We will notice the Romanesque font (left on entering), tombstones and Louis XIV woodwork.
