Saint Joseph Church of Nancy

Apologies to googlers who is looking for more detailed information about this church but I only walked past here on my way to the art nouveau museum. It was also closed as there were barricades in front of the entrance. But it's a remarkably spectacular façades of typical Romanesque Revival style architecture. Another fascinating trivial note I discovered that the street this church is located is called Rue Mon Désert (roughly translated as My Desert street) named after a country château that once existed in the area. Would have loved to see the interior especially the pulpit and furnitures designed by Eugène Vallin whose furnitures and architectural influences on the art nouveau movement are displayed in the Musée de l'École de Nancy art nouveau museum! Worth a look even though it's a bit out of the city centre of Nancy.

Beautiful church, welcoming community

A very beautiful church, easy to access and a beautiful place to gather.

The facade of the church is really worth a look with its sculpted statues and friezes with astrological signs. I could not visit the interior. Original!
