An unforgettable Christmas "For Christmas day, a little snowshoe walk with my daughters, accompanied by Julien. The climb to Lake Gaube from Pont d'Espagne, in search of Izards, passing through a valley, the fishermen's path, along the Gave de Gauve, then joining the GR 10 after having a snack at the Lac des Huats and having tasted the blueberry pie from Gillou shared by our guide Julien. Five hours of walking and observation with superb sensations, in snowy and windy winter conditions, at a temperature approaching minus ten degrees. We listened to Julien talk to us about his passion for the Desman des Pyrénées, epicurean and cultural Pyreneanism, rowan and rose hips, the differentiation of pines and firs, Scots pine, the growth of beeches, the structure snowflakes and their link with avalanches, Mercadou and ancestral relations between Spaniards and Cauterésiens. We had the chance to meet a herd of Izards made up of several pitous and eterlous accompanied by their mothers. A great moment of emotion, sensation, culture which will remain for us an unforgettable December 25th. We will forever be defenders of these little, almost chimerical beings composed of a shrew's head, a mole's front and a rat's bottom. Thanks Julien. "
