Chateau de Savigny-les-Beaune

Excellent property, with surprising combination of an old castle, with a great feeling of history, with the largest ever seen private collection of war planes, antique bikes and race cars, and other... and of course wine!

If you like wine, aeroplanes or motorbikes then you'll love this place. Great for the kids to.

Wonderful venue for a trip with my son. Authentic place populated by a very large number of vehicles: tractors, fire-trucks, Abarth racing cars, jets, bikes, and copters. Items are displayed as-is without much context or explanation. This gives the place a cabinet-de-curiosité flair -- wich conveys a certain charm. Do not expect to learm much about the displayed items however: you might want to bring a tech savy buddy/relative who would be capable of filling the gaps and describe the machines. On top of that, you can buy a couple of very decent bottles at the end of the exhibition.

I highly recommend this place not only for the wine (they have a selection of very good Premier cru whites and red) but also for the visit of the owner's collection of race cars, planes and more

What an amazing place. Be prepared to spend at least 4 hours looking.
