The price of indecency after death. Présence Verte is a remote monitoring service for the elderly. The purpose of the service is to intervene telephonically in case of report by a beep of the person being monitored and to call relatives or emergency services. The subscription for the service is billed monthly. Our mother died on 28/04/2017 and we stopped the service on the day of her death. After the death there is no more service and therefore the subscription should have been billed until April 28, 2017. Présence Verte not only bill the full April but also bill the period from May 1 to May 10 until we receive the remote monitoring device returned by us after receiving a label to stick on the parcel. Why this billing when there is more service subscribed. We asked the question and Présence Verte takes refuge behind a contract article which is the answer: As specified in Article I - 4.6 Termination "... .The effective date of termination is the date of return of the entire material to Présence Verte ...". We received the hotline material on our premises on May 10, 2017. So billing stops automatically that day. This clause is abusive to the extent that the service no longer exists the person having died. How in these conditions Green Presence can continue to charge days. If the package would have been stuck 30 days at the post office we would have had to pay 30 days. It's really not serious and I think it's not consistent with consumer rights. Billing after a person's death is appallingly indecent.
