Chapelle Saint Morand

Superb view, quiet, close to the road and accessible for families

Thanks to the generous gesture of Mrs. Monique Gugenberger and Christiane Ruhlmann, who donated this property to the municipality, the Steibachois see their heritage enriched by the Saint Morand Chapel. This is part of their landscape, their destinations for walks and the famous monuments admired and loved by the village. The small building rises on the site of an old Calvary, on the Loh plateau (where many French and German soldiers perish, during heavy fighting in 1914 - 1915) and is located near the Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle. Sober and of harmonious proportions, it fits remarkably into the surrounding landscape and offers a viewpoint on an exceptional panorama. Built in 1930, the chapel suffered from time and, unfortunately, acts of vandalism. Restored several times. The Municipal Council and the association of the Steinbach household.
