Langres Cathedral

A beautiful medieval cathedral in an amazing fortified/walled town. This really is unexpected beauty in a rural town. The history of the cathedral is amazing. Like many religious buildings of this age it has endured battles, politics, murders, betrayal, and is a place I'd love to spend more time. The guided tours are supposed to be brilliant and well worth booking. These are available at the tourist information centre just down the main high street.

If you're not claustrophobic take the spiral stairs up the tower for a 360° bird eye view of Langres!
