A relative transferred during the day to this Hospital, and then nothing more from you, no calls, you cannot be reached, no doctor to say what he has to do with it. You don't even think about the worried family anymore. Especially when it comes to older people ....
Ashamed, ashamed ...
Polysomnography performed in a clinic with walls devoid of soundproofing (I could quite distinctly hear the nurses discussing in the hallway) and above which a helicopter from the SAMU passes several times every night. Two questionable doctors, one implying that I want a diagnosis and treatment to legally drug myself, the other gives me a vague and meaningless answer when I ask when I will receive my genetic test results. When I tell him that this is not an answer he tells me "we are not in a hurry, we have time" (it turns out that I was in a hurry because I had studies to pursue and I did not have not yet received my results to date, thanks for the academic failure). My neurologist relates similar testimonies from other of her patients, to be avoided!
We lost our grandfather this weekend at Albert Calmette hospital, an infectious disease department in intensive care which is on the ground-ground for the Covid. Where to start...
We stayed from Saturday 11am until Sunday 2am. During this lapse of time, the service personnel did not even deny offering us even water, while our 76 year old grandmother was very weak. We ate in the "cafeteria" which consists of two chairs and two distributors in which the prices were absolutely shameful (almost € 4 for a mini sandwich). We wondered if this was a ghost hospital, or if the medical staff avoided us.
Several thoughts were made throughout the day, as there were too many of us in "the waiting room". Obviously, when it comes to a large family, we are not going to make a choice between the children who remain and the children who wisely wait at home for their father to leave. It's just common sense, so yes, it's risky for the Covid but during all this time, we were all masked and we all changed masks after 4 hours of use, (our own masks of course since obviously, they could not provide us with a mask).
This is totally inhuman and I would like to remind you all the same that the heart of your profession is above all HUMAN. You owe it to yourself to be empathetic, understandable and at a minimum polite with family, especially when they are about to lose a loved one.
On top of that, during all this time, we haven't seen a single cleaning person to disinfect door handles, for example. Dark and gloomy corridors, exposed pipes that crumble, cobwebs already hanging from the air vents whether in the patient's room as in the elevator and the corridors, with all that, a good layer of dust , the atmosphere in the hospital is very murky. We even found obscene messages written in marker on the walls in the hallways.
We can understand that this period of health crisis is complicated for everyone, for the nursing staff as well as for the families who lose a loved one who is dear to them.
The reception of the family is totally deplorable as are the locals. You should train your staff, at least the people involved, in the values your job is meant to convey. You should also welcome families in better conditions and accompany them as they should in this kind of tragic moment in life.
Hello
Nothing to say about the service of the day hospital of Calmette the nurses are friendly as well as the staff. But what about the reception of the admissions office or the secretaries of September 14 are rude and aggressive.
A good hospital I highly recommend.
And above all thank all the bravo teams for your work and your professionalism bravo and thank you again
