Dam Car (10/09/2020)
Pretty parish church, built in 1927 - only the bell tower is from the 13th century (reworked in 1860) - which shows the link between Barcelonnette and Mexico with a large image (certified true copy) of Our Lady of Guadalupe (with panels of 'multilingual explanation). Main portal in Roman style. Inside three naves and six bays. And curiously, the vaults on the side naves are perpendicular to the vault in the main nave! In the apse, behind the altar, you will find a large Byzantine-style mosaic. Enjoy watching the details of the pulpit (17th century and formerly in the Dominican convent) as well as the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary. Not to mention the interesting wooden spiral staircase leading up to the grandstand.
