July 25, 1909: the aviator Louis Blériot succeeds the exploit of the crossing of the Channel aboard the Blériot XI. With this notoriety, he chose Buc's ground to create, within his Blériot-Aéronautique company, a particular site, close to Paris, for aircraft testing and pilot training. On the model of the success of Port-Aviation in Viry-Châtillon, he also wishes to be able to present air shows. The site, inaugurated on November 13, 1912, includes a main building, seat of the flying school, also serving as a hotel for pilot aviators and apprentices, preceded by a monumental door, signal visible from afar. Sheds and a huge platform complete the device. The site is very active during the First World War and in the 1920s especially with SPAD aircraft. The thirties marked a decline and the end of an era with the death in 1936 of Louis Blériot. From 1940 to 1944, the site was occupied and bombed several times in 1944. At the end of the conflict, the ground was rendered in a poor state to the Blériot-Aéronautique company. The activity ceases in 1966 and the final closure occurs in 1970. From now on the remains of the monumental gate are the only traces of this past.
