Pièce d'Eau des Suisses was built between 1679 and 1682 by a regiment of Swiss guards in order to drain the king's kitchen garden.

A superb view of the Palace of Versailles and the Orangery .... a large space to stroll around this beautiful expanse of water where you meet fishermen with a permit. At the end of the water feature a beautiful statue of Bernini.
