What can I say about Speedy tyres in Etampes? We were travelling back from the Dordogne to Dieppe for our 6pm ⛴ ferry. We'd given ourselves an extra three hours to allow for traffic and delays, which fortunately was just enough as about thirty miles south-west of Etampes one of our rear tyres started to de-laminate (the tyres still had plenty of tread). We certainly weren't in a hurry but the inner edge of the nearside rear tyre quite literally started to peel away from the cords, which with some 160 miles or so to go meant it was unpractical and dangerous to continue, and I certainly didn't want to travel that distance on the space-saver spare. So after a quick search on Google we were able to find the nearest open tyre centre was in Etampes, 'Speedy tires'. We limped to the tire centre and were given a price of just over two hundred and fifty euros for two Pirelli tyres which were in stock, with another thirty euros for valves, tyre ♻ recycling etc. So all good so far, with the car likely to be ready in 'deux heures' - which we interpreted would be by two o'clock or two hours meaning three o'clock at the latest. Either way we'd still have just enough time to catch our ferry. The staff were very friendly and helpful - so fingers crossed we’d still make our ferry. So we wandered off to have a look at the nearby shops and to grab a bite to eat returning just before two o'clock hoping to find our car ready. But alas the tyres weren't in stock and with no alternatives available and our old rear tyres too dangerous to continue it looked like we were set to spend the rest of the weekend in Etampes and miss our ferry. After a little cursing our car was now the focus of attention of all four staff members who assured us that they were trying to find a solution to our delimna. With this they all disappeared; there was some banging, some more cursing followed by some more banging but it was apparent that the guys were searching through some old tyres 'out the back' to see if they could get us back on the road. They managed to find two matching old Pirelli tyres of the correct size and speed rating, both with over 3.5 mm of tread in very good condition with a good solid tread pattern with no gouges, cuts or defects - the tread was in good shape across the whole pattern and right around the circumference, certainly nothing to set the alarm bells ringing. I actually started to wonder why someone had actually changed these two pretty good tyres in the first place. Anyway the guys fitted the tyres, balanced them, checked the tyre pressures and handed back the keys. So after forty five minutes of panicking, the odd smile and some too-ing and fro-ing with Google translate, we were back on the road by three o'clock. As we left Speedy tyres all four members of staff stood at the front of the premises smiling and waving as we left. So leaving our new best friends behind we arrived at the ferry ⛴ port at 5.30 and caught our ferry on time. Arriving back home in the south-west of England some 350 miles later. So other than the fact that they didn't have our tyres in stock, which wasn't their fault, how could I give Speedy tyres Etampes anything less than five 🌟 stars and a big 👍🏼 thumbs up and a thank you 👏. A good reason to cancel Brexit 🇫🇷 🇪🇺 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇬🇧

The young woman at the reception is very friendly and smiling .. I have changed 2 tires no worries. The car was returned to me within the stated time.
