Musée de l'Alta Rocca - Archéologie et d'Ethnographie

Closed on 6.9.2020 but displayed to be open. Drove 1,5h on windy road to find it closed. Sad, as Castle of Cucurruzu is only half worth, if you can't see the findings...

Small but very well organized museum. The illustrations help to understand the usefulness of objects for the little ones. Our 4 and 6 year olds liked it a lot and so did we. The welcome was warm, the village beautiful, I highly recommend!

Very nice and lovingly furnished small archaeological museum on the history of South Corsica. The showpiece of the museum is the approximately 8,000 year old skeleton of the Lady of Bonifacio. Explanations almost exclusively in French, but the lady at the entrance will point them out. But there is also a German explanation for the skeleton of the Lady of Bonifacio. The rest of the museum is also worth seeing and many of the exhibits speak for themselves. Well worth a trip at any time.
