Hôtel Bel Horizon

Booked a room to start the gr20, they did not ask me at what time of the day I was going to check in but they took my booking anyway. Once I arrived at 8pm to check in no one was in reception and when I called them they told me that it was full and there wasn’t any room for me even though I told them I didn’t have a place to go. Thankfully I went to the Gite Municipal Calenzana and pitched my tent for 9euro. If you are doing the gr20 don’t bother spending €55 for a room, just go to the Gite Municipal, they have showers and a kitchen.

Avoid the day before the departure of the GR20 (not suitable for hikers) The +: clean, in the heart of Calenzana The -: room overlooking the main square, extremely noisy until 1 am, even with the windows closed despite the heat; no air conditioning or fan; toilets on the landing; breakfast served from 7 am (unlike their website which advertises breakfasts ‘served early for hikers’) In summary, we strongly advise against the day before departure GR20 unless to sleep 3 hours.

Deplorable condition and cleanliness of the room (dirty sheets and bath towels), no hot water in the showers, added to the inability to pay by credit card, you have been warned.

Inconceivable value for money ... no toilet 🚽 in the rooms, thin wall without insulation. The people in the hotel are unfriendly and advertise it false. We chose this hotel because we could have breakfast in the morning before going to the GR20 ... on the phone 📞 there was no problem. On the other hand, once there, no .. the manager must sleep and we have to manage .... we had to insist and fight to have a thermo made the day before with bread from the day before for lunch in the morning .... in short do not choose ....

Very expensive for benefits no hot water, no air conditioning, wc outside, no tv and only 1 wall outlet because the second must be used for the fan. For a price of 77euros for 2
