AUBERGE DE LA FORET

Great location and service, staff helpful if a tad pushy ; we were asked thrice if we wanted sandwiches for the next day, and the camping spots were on top of the hill, so isolated from the road, but some distance from the actual building.

No wifi. The tenant looks overwhelmed by her job. They serve as menu desert the same cheap cake they make for breakfast, i felt abused. Also, there is no flexibility for breakfast: it is not possible to get it before 7h30am which is vzry late given that the next step of the Mar E Monti takes 8hours with full sun during 3 hours. We did not enjoy our stay at this place. Also they asked us to let our bags outside of the room during the night because they cause insect invasion, i feel like it is their responsability to handle the problem by treating the wood properly so i kept my bag inside anyways and so did the other hikers. All the rooms where empty but we all had to sleep in the same dorm, during the corona pandemic. Also the beds are very poor quality, the bed sheets and pillow sheets are made of synthetic plastic which makes you sweat during the night. The tenant was really not friendly and she must understand that early breakfast is important for hikers because when they leave too late they may risk insolation.

Even though the view and river are beautiful, I can't say the same about Auberge de la forêt. The gîte was nice and roomy, well cleaned. The good was ok.. That's why I can give it 2 stars. The staff is not friendly, and even rude. They refuse to speak English, they act like they don't understand.

Fabulous ...just so lovely..

Nice location, nice rooms. Staff is helpful but not very friendly. Rooms got mixed up when we arrived. All rooms have the same key (!) so we entered someone else's room by accident. Wifi has a daily extra cost per device (in 2018), while mobile reception is non existant. No credit/debit cards accepted. Nearest ATM is a 20min drive.
