The Chapelle Saint-Hélier is the oldest building in the town of Barentin. Former chapel of the seigneurial castle of Barentin, destroyed during the Hundred Years War. Only its chevet remains, probably dating from the 14th century, the rest of the building dates from the 16th century. Today, the building is owned by the City. In the chapel, the saint was once celebrated on July 16 with a pilgrimage. ----- Bust, reconstructed stone molding on a brick plinth, of Pope Clement VI (1291-1352). Located between the Chapel and the Viaduct. Cardinal Pierre Roger de Beaufort, elected Pope of Avignon, Clement VI, from 1342 to 1352, unanimously on May 7, 1342. Work by jean-Pierre Gras, 1921. (1955 copy).
