School Vallée Du Cailly

Having kept good memories of a smoothly completed course from the end of 2015 to 2018, it seemed natural to me to add an opinion about the high school which allowed me to have my baccalaureate (moreover with honors) . It is important to come back first to the situation of the school. Indeed, being located close to the A150 and the Route de Dieppe, students in possession of a permit or having the possibility of being brought by car will have no trouble coming, whether they live in Déville-lès- Rouen, in the neighboring towns, in Rouen or even in the countryside. The sufficiently large car park, stretching the length of the school to the gymnasium at the rear, allows parking with some ease. It is especially essential in view of the number of buses that serve the school and which need space to circulate as smoothly as possible. Indeed, there are enough lines (F4, 364, 9, ...) to bring students who only have this way to get there. Now, we must mention the training provided. The high school offers its some 1,000 students to integrate, as in all high schools, either a general or technological course with a multitude of options such as the Portuguese, Greek, Euro, Plastic Arts option and even a Women's Rugby section. . It also trains higher education students with BTS MCO (Operational Commercial Management) and SAM (Support for Managerial Action). For my part, I had oriented myself in the Literary sector. Aiming first at the Economic and Social sector, the Economic and Social Sciences courses had however discouraged me in part because of a poor introduction to this subject. However, as the courses have disappeared in favor of a common core, I would not look further into this part. In 3 years, I have nevertheless known a large part of the teaching team, sometimes with very good surprises and sometimes not so good. Again, as in all high schools. Whether from personal experience or from stories, I could only see that there was generally a good working atmosphere. Some teachers were - and surely still are - ready to make contact with students to help them as much as possible, often with striking touches of humor. Some were more ... worn out by years of teaching, shall we say, and may not have given such good memories, but these are still a minority. The high school maintenance team is discreet but efficient. We can note some traces of aging of the school itself (wallpaper which tends to peel off, crack in the plasterboard, ...), which would not disappear with a sponge blow but rather by more means . This is not so much the fault of the administration, which has suffered from the poor ranking of the establishment nationally and regionally for several years now. However, not being badly attended - I only witnessed one serious case of bullying - the school should continue to improve if the team remains so welcoming and dedicated (and if the students do the same too. ).
