Fraternité Saint-Pierre Lyon

This is not just a church, but a community of priests and an educational institution. This community of Catholic priests, without religious vows, performs a double mission in the world: firstly, the formation and consecration of priests in the framework of the traditional liturgy of the Roman rite; secondly, the pastoral action of these priests on earth, in the service of the Church. The fraternity was founded on July 18, 1988 in the abbey of Hauteriv (Switzerland) by a dozen priests and some seminarians. Soon after its founding and with the help of Cardinal Ratzinger, she was met by Bishop of Augsburg (Germany) Bishop Joseph Stimfl in Wigratzbad, Bavarian Marian Temple. It is here that the European seminar on the priesthood of St. Peter is held today, and the General Chamber was founded in 2003 in Friborg, Switzerland. There are 180 priests and 120 seminarians in the community.

Church of the famous fraternity Saint-Pierre founded in 1988 by Josef Bisig.Today this church is a real historical monument, and a place of Christian worship of the whole local population. The architecture of this building is of an incredible beauty, with gilded stone walls, with a Latin phrase, in the upper part of the facade.
