A special little hidey-hole just off the beaten track in Malaucène village. Excellent experience on both the gastronomic and oenological level. Service prompt and very friendly too. Excellent choice of quality wines from the local region, backed up by knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to advise the best accompaniments to your meal according to preferences and mood.
Two visits in a week, and I shall certainly be back soon. The menu is quite small, but carefully crafted to ensure a good range of options to suit all tastes. Speedily served. Tasty, well balanced flavours. The ‘deconstructed’ lemon tart was a case in point. A dish that can be characterised by being either excessively tart, or overcompensated by too much sugar. This one was smooth and flavoursome without excesses. Delicious.
The first visit my daughter and I shared the ‘aperitif’ platter. “Un régal” (a delight) as the French say. A quality 'tasting dish' of melon soup (with Bayonne ham), hummus, a duck confit nem, and a tangy mozzarella salad. Accompanied by a fruity white Vacqueras, followed by a delicious tannic, spicy red from the same appellation. Quality Arabica coffee.
Second trip we opted for one of the main dishes, braised veal cutlet. Tender and tasty.
A great pleasure to come across a little restaurant that is maintaining culinary standards, while so many in French tourist areas are increasingly serving up boring dishes of average quality for undemanding visitors.
Excellent food & wine! Friendly people!
A wonderful wine bar and restaurant. An absolute must if visiting Malaucene.
A good place to drop in for a few glasses of wine. I have been a few times. The owner is friendly and helpful. She tries to pick a wine that you will like based on your preferences and often brings several bottles for you to try a few sips before you decide. She will also bring tapenade to accompany the wine.
It’s worth walking a few minutes up the hill to come to this place if you are in town and appreciate wine. Much more interesting than the bars in the main area.
I had two good glasses of wine plus tapenade for €9. Very fair.
The menu selection is small but the food is great and the service is fantastic.
