Dear Avis France! I tried to book a car online. As i submitted my request , my credit card was immediate debited for the entire amount (113 euro). After that i received an e-mail in French. Unfortunately for me my french is not that good, but i assumed that someone that takes your money will also provide you with a service. Very wrong assumption as later i found out that there were no cars available. That's not nice, but anyway and i requested my money back. And here it all started as i was told to call customer service and make this request. Shock, customer service is not a toll free number. It is supra charged if you do not call from a landline. Who, today (yes, today, not the 80s) has access to a land line while being in vacation in a different country?????? And the fun did not stop here.... It took me 5 calls and over 1h of conversations with different people.... and still i have not received my money. And yes, if you do not call, they will not give the money back (or so said someone from the call center). The cost of the calls ??? 177 EUR to TRY to get back 113 EURO and a very bad start of my Vacation in France!!! So, dear AVIS management and all the "smart" staff that implemented this idea. You are either trying to steal money from your customers of you are simply incompetent. Trying to be your customer costed me EURO 177 in phone charges, EURO 113 in car rental fees (that i have not received back) and most importantly hours from my vacation and one full day of stress and nerves!!!

This place is a complete joke. First I paid premium to rent an auto car. But on the day of pick up I was given a manual car. They said they only have a manual car (doesn't matter if I reserved weeks earlier and paid in full) and can't do anything about it. Worst I find out the following week that my friend rent a car at the same place and received an automatic one when he asked for a manual. No help received, and eventually I had to go all the way to Paris to get one with 200euro plus extra. I still have not received refund for my initial booking after a month+

Une terrible expérience. Ne faites pas votre location de voiture ici This is the worst place I have ever tried to rent a car and I've had quite a few bad experiences. First of all, they did not honor my reservation because I arrived 15 minutes late. Second, the desk clerk had a terrible attitude and did not try to help me in any way. Finally, not only did he not help but also when I mentioned that he had a bad attitude he just replied "I know", so I'm assuming that he just doesn't care about the success of the place. Fortunately across the street, the Hertz place managed to get me a car and they were exceedingly nice.
