The church of St Marcel located below the hillock of Laon is one of the most beautiful of all the suburbs of Laon. The interior is magnificent.

What pleased me was Father Arnaud's homily against past and present idols. A priest devoid of pride, worthy, who fades before the word of Christ, who is life, the truth and the way. Unlike others who try to spread their general culture by quoting Prevert and his Blasphemous Our Father in homily, or who sinks into this present and urgent concern to be modern and tolerant (tyranny of new times, ephemeral ), greeting the Mahometans and their barbarous superstitions at each office.
