Basilique Saint-Régis de Lalouvesc

Lalouvesc is a charming little village which was literally built around Jean-François Régis. If Régis has become a first name, it is thanks to him that it was the last name. There is the large basilica built on the small church where he died, the crypt where his body rested (his remains are now in a reliquary in the church), its museum (redone and sympathetic), a chapel of Saint Ignatius of Loyola (Régis was a Jesuit) with exhibits. We spent a pleasant afternoon there, the volunteers of the Tourist Office are welcoming, charming, benevolent, the landscapes are superb, in short, even if you are not religious, it is a very pleasant visit .
