Establishment to flee! . A student in 2003, I had the worst year of all my schooling. It could have cost me dearly in my journey. At that time, I was recommended to do a 5th apprenticeship. No sooner had we arrived in 6th than we were already classified. A shame . Fortunately, I quickly left Henri Matisse college to go in public .... A success since I obtained excellent grades in college and then in high school (literary baccalaureate). My university studies ... a success! . A good hearer ....

Strict and isolated high school, it gives the feeling of being in prison and yes totally outside the world in view of its location and its smallness. Everything is known, do not expect anonymity. Students are treated like academics in the case of high school students, and always drawn to more. A significant workload and constant pressure.

Not so bad teaching for a private Catholic who tries to stuff your head and who favors the intellectual elite (especially in high school), those who record the best courses to spit afterwards without any real usefulness. The teaching is rather double-edged because some teachers are excellent and adorable, we really love their subject and help us when difficulties arise, others are simply mediocre and are run on the feet by the students. Apparently, hypocrisy is within the very body of teachers, normal that many teachers leave after a year or two given the stories that are heard later and that turn out to be true (for the majority of those who were leaving were just excellent). We even force students with good results to go into some streams rather than others for fear of losing the 100% success proudly displayed in the bac. Oh yes, I forgot, far too many students are reoriented after their first year of graduate studies, you do not think play a role? (especially in my generation) Also, stories of harassment are of little concern to the teaching / administrative body, so if your child is being harassed, falls into depression and does not want to go because the other kids are boring, do not be surprised. The teaching staff will do little to remedy this situation and to restore the child's harassed confidence, to reframe those who harass and who will continue over the years without ever really stopping. Really nice afterwards to try not to be reluctant to the outside world and rebuild mentally as a young adult. Also, the food is disgusting, avoid putting your kids in the canteen: they may catch a food poisoning a year, and it is very expensive for what it is. And the toilets are often clogged and degraded by students. Renew the furniture, because after a while, the wobbly tables and chairs began to work well. Glad to have got rid of this establishment that has not brought me much good in 7 years (4 in college, 3 in high school). I warmly greet the best teachers I have had throughout my schooling at Henri Matisse and the few people friendly administration, for the rest: I could have done without.

The purpose of this school is to train the intellectual elite of tomorrow, like some Parisian institutions. However, Henri Matisse is not one of these high schools. It is more of a high school advocating an unfounded meritocracy, both by the request of some teachers, and by the inhumanity and condescension of some members of the teaching team. Nevertheless, the renewal of the teaching team over the past two years has brought a breath of fresh air to teaching, which, despite this, is still somewhat archaic. Proposals for orientation are not adequate for each student's project, they are tried to put in two separate boxes, either the license or the preparatory class. Students wishing to do a BTS or other are almost no longer considered. This is also the case for those who want to do a big school like Sciences Po, they are told they will not have it. The only thing that counts is a 100% bac score, to keep this image of the establishment advocating excellence. Besides that, the canteen is to be discouraged, just like the level in Spanish language it is very little qualitative. In spite of that, this establishment makes it possible to acquire very solid bases as regards, the methods and the global knowledge. The teacher renewal, allows to put some materials in value. Indeed, the current director may have realized that the methods of some teachers were inappropriate for 21st century education. Relationships between students are strengthened through this common enemy. This is amusing because many students develop analytical and critical thinking by reflecting on the archaism of methods. In short, Matisse is the ideal place if you want to acquire a good foundation in terms of methodology, and general culture. There is nevertheless a price to pay, perhaps it is to have a hard time and a lot of feeling towards the teaching. Nevertheless, it remains a quality establishment. (except hardware and internet)
