Staff were very friendly and helpful and made my daughter and myself feel like a part of the family! They even helped her practice her French which was the purpose of our trip! Thank You, Front desk Staff!
This charming hotel is located in an ideal location. It is a simple, but truly comfortable and welcoming hotel. Rooms are small, but the charm of Paris is huge. Luxurious bathroom is also a plus. We will absolutely make this our go to hotel for any future visits to Paris. My 14 year old daughter also loved it. Lastly, it is just around the corner of the best gelato maker/store in Paris! Yum!
Friendly staff made all the difference. We stayed over Christmas and loved the nearby shopping. Room was comfy and I loved the breakfast room in the basement. Overall lovely stay and would recommend this spot to singles or couples traveling with light luggage. Probably not for large families with tons of suitcases.
This is a tough review to write and I wish I liked Hotel des Duex-Iles better than I do. On the positive side, the location of this hotel is amazing! Being on the island is the best place to be in Paris, there are no questions about that but I would not really recommend anyone to stay in this specific hotel. The rooms are small, dated, and very dark.
The rooms are fairly clean but they are also super loud. The first night we had an American couple next to us that were just super loud and in these rooms, you can literally hear everything that is said in the next room, every closet opening, closing, water running, etc. The second night, we had a French couple and they were super quiet which was nice.
Overall, this hotel is very overpriced and old so I wouldn't tell anyone to stay here.
My fiance and I stayed with the Hotel des Deux Iles for three nights in May 2019. It was glorious. the hotel is beautiful, built in the 1600s. The rooms still have the original beams from the building. The bathroom had Portuguese tiles in the shower/tub. The room and hotel in general was immaculate. the breakfast was very tasty and the room in which it is held is very pleasant. The hotel owner and staff are a joy. So friendly, so welcoming, so well-informed about the neighborhood and Paris in general. They got us excellent taxis when we needed them, and gave great advice. They even had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room, because they ascertained that we were about to be engaged, on top of the Eiffel Tower! The Ile Saint Louis was the absolute perfect place to stay in Paris. I have stayed in Paris many many times before, starting in 1984 when I was in college living in Tours, France. This hotel, and the island itself, are glorious. So quiet, so peaceful, like a little private paradise in the middle of the grand European center that Paris is. There are only three main streets, with gourmet shops and restaurants, but everything is very tasteful and quiet. You are smack dab in the very center of Paris, yet there is absolutely no din. Stay ANYWHERE else in Paris, and you will find great noise. This hotel, like I said, and the island itself, are like a hidden secret. You will be VERY LUCKY if you can find space in this hotel. Believe me. I speak from experience. I have a Ph.D. and travel widely in the world. I have never, ever, stayed in such a special, charming, welcoming, unique hotel, and I have stayed at Ritz Carltons before, and other three and four star hotels. Bravo to you if you are fortunate to find availability in the Hotel des Deux Iles.
