Went here to report a pickpocket phone and passport/IDs. It took a little less than an hour to process both reports. The officers were very professional and kind. They spoke good English and were interested in processing us quickly. Just across the street from the USA embassy too.
The worst attidute ever seen by me in any country! The Govt of France must correct this if they want tourists to visit! The number of pickpockets and lack of systems to prevent this thuggery. Merely advising general public to exercise care amounts to avoiding responsibility for safety. Sad story!
If you have time, please read my story, thank you! As an Asian visitor from Canada, I was very upset and disappointed by the rude service and attitude, I lost my passport at night, and the cop asked me and my friend( 2 girls) waiting outside the fence in the dark, and claimed that there were no space inside the station. Only until we learned from a gentleman coming out from the station that there was no one waiting inside! The gentleman kindly helped us to ask the police to let us in. And to my astonishment, it was all empty inside!! I was so shocked by the rude and unprofessional attitude of the police who were supposed to be friendly and helpful especially when I was desperate after losing passport to go home! And the police inside even murmured to the other cop“ Seriously, you still let these people (us) in?” Because he thought we don’t speak French. We were served immediately. It is ABSURD the police officer lied by forcing us waiting 10m away from the checkpoint forever!!! I don’t know what my comment will lead to, but I know what I have truly experienced. And I think it is my responsibility to let people know they are treating foreigners. I don’t know if it is because of race so they do not care about us waiting in the cold for 20 minuets or for some other reasons, but anyways, they totally manipulated my impression of the city. As a visitor, I don’t feel welcomed or protected. If even the police is not on your side, what can you expect? Bye Paris.
Visited this police station after having my purse stolen in Paris. Please take time to read this review if you are considering visiting this station or checking reviews prior to traveling. When I walked in the police officer rudely asked me "What did you want?", as if my prescence at the station was a major inconvience to him. I told him I needed to file a report on a stolen purse but also wanted to know if anyone had possibly turned anything in. Without even making the slighest attempt to search for the object he looked at me and said "it's impossible, to find something here is impossible". He then proceeded on to hand a ciggerate to his coworker and laugh with him without even finishing his conversation with me. Before I filed the report I quickly realized that the hopes of finding my purse were zero to nothing with these fools behind the desk. The only reason I even wasted time filing a report was for travel insurance so GOOD LUCK!
As a Canadian visiting your city for the first time, I would like to commend your police force for their excellent efforts to keep both citizens and crazy tourists safe.
