Boutique Paraboot Paris Rue de Rivoli

I bought my first pair of Paraboots Michael at the Rue de Rivoli Boutique last week and experienced extremely bad customer service. Having no prior experience with the fit or sizing of the brand I asked whether their shoes run on the bigger or smaller side, telling the sales advisor, that I am usually between 39 and 40. "on the bigger" was the response "I will bring you 39". I noticed the rather snug fit, but eventually bought them. Later I found out the size he brought me (UK 5 1/2) doesn't equal EU 39 but is a 38.5. I feel very disappointed. Of course it is my responsibility to buy "the right size", but having been giving false information in the first place, puts confusion on the judgement of the fit. They also seemed very annoyed and impatient with me taking my time to decide for a shoe, which put me in an uncomfortable situation. For some people it's a big decision to buy shoes for over 350€.
