Beautiful place, good leg workout
Nice place to walk
Great start location for walks in the Brecon Beacons. The forest itself is lovely and well worth an explore before heading out onto the hills. The route up towards Pen-y-Fan is clear and obvious in nice weather conditions, but inexperienced walkers should make sure they are well prepared as the weather can change quickly here. Ordinance survey maps will be your best bet for routes to walk around the area.
No facilities on site but The Old Barn Tea Rooms are a 100yards away and there you will always find a warm welcome.
The parking site in the taf fechan forest is excellently sited for those seeking to explore the area whether by bike or on two legs and lies adjacent to the Pontsticill/Talybont Road
Conveniently close to the Neuadd Reservoirs and the Roman Rd leading to the pass over the Beacons, it is also just a short distance from the waterfalls at Blaen y Glyn and, for the experienced walkers, the high ridge lands around the area.
One word of caution, do please check the weather forecast and wear suitable clothing and footwear, the weather on the mountains can change quickly and unexpectedly. Have fun and enjoy one of mother nature's great gifts
Great place to park although limited spaces on busy days. Close enough after a hard day's walk in the Brecons to walk back to.
