I loved immensely my recent visit to the Guildhall Gallery. The art gallery is very small, chamber, intimate, but nevertheless very nice and, with love and intelligence, furnished. In the basement, under the building of the Guildhall, Roman London's Amphitheatre for Roman gladiatorial battles was discovered, just think about it, dated 43 AD, date fascinates itself. The amphitheatre was not only excavated and archaeological researched but also an exhibition was organized, right at the site of archaeological excavations and using the original ruins of the amphitheatre. What fascinated me and at the same time surprised me is that, the amphitheatre is located under the building of the Guildhall, built long later, how it was done, perhaps the building was moved during the excavations, and then moved back. The gallery itself, although small, left a lot of positive impressions. I would also like to especially note the store at the gallery in which a vast range of high-quality material assembled and would be useful for gritting occasions.

Have wanted to go for years and now I have. It was well worth a visit. The art gallery is well laid out and covid precaution ready. Amazing amphitheatre with great visuals and some stunning art.

One of London's hidden gems. The collection is mainly made up of Victorian art, among the paintings is the stunning portrait of Alexa Wilding by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
