We went to see the availability (as there was no answer on the phones for the last week) while we were going to kirby lonsdale for the day and the weather was nice we parked up outide and tried to find someone to talk to couldnt find anyone evem after knocking on reception several times eventually an old guy came out and was a bit of a tool to be honest , " you shoulnt be here" he said so we explained the situation and that we were looking for the avalibility and were looking to book he was very rude and didnt seem like he wanted the buisiness he said we needed to leave and call up safe to say wont be booking just because of how rude and his whole attitude lovely place aside from that the lodges looked great and so did the fishing lake.

Really friendly proprietors very clean and well maintained site very good fishing. peaceful. and brilliant wild life easy to find just off M6 at carnforth

Wish I could give this no stars. Arrived for 5 days and left after 5 minutes. Went to reception and old man appeared , was very grumpy and in a rush to leave for an appointment. Reluctantly came to pitch to put electricity card into meter. When asked about paying was very abrupt in his manner. Visited last year and found him the same but decided to give the place another go. Wish we hadn't bothered now.. Whole place needs maintaining better. Will never return. Other reviewers found him grumpy and unhelpful and they will not return either

I have just stayed in Mallard Lodge for 3 nights with my fiancee. The lodge was cosy, inviting, well maintained and equipped with everything you needed from a dishwasher to a washing machine, bed was really comfy and the views from the floor to ceiling windows at the front of the lodge of the lake and trees were picturesque, especially in the autumn! The lodge had privacy and wasn't located to near the other two neighbouring lodges. Enough room to park the car, nice balcony to dine outside on and the hot tub was a taste of luxury, 28 jets, 3 settings for varying power of jets and secluded and sheilded from any wind by being set into a hill. Owners seemed like helpful and friendly people. With supermarkets and takeaways and restaurants a short drive away, Redwell Lake Lodges was an idyllic remote getaway for us, thank you!

Some of the posts about this site I don’t recognise. It was the first site I looked at along with Pure leisure, her indoors decided on the pool and gym the Pure leisure site offered. The staff were great, shame about the company. We then moved to Bay view, great walks and sunsets but after seeing vans overturned by winds decided to move. We then went to Redwell fisheries and there we stopped for four years and that should tell you all you need to know. The only reason we left is because we have sold the van and are spending more time abroad.
