The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very calm and pleasant (although a little too warm on a hot day!) It's never been problem to collect reserved books and I usually end up with something else interesting to read whilst I'm there. A fantastic community resource.
Do yourself a favour; buy the book from amazon and then maybe try to read it on a public bus or in a log flume at Butlins because you'd have more chance of completing there than you would at the Community Library. No quiet rooms for people to read or work in and subsequently you are subjected to everything from earth-mothers letting their little darlings run riot to jakes who have just come in for a warm. I understand the need for libraries to diversify and engage with the community but this should not detract from the fundamental nature of a library. Any of the empty rooms off to the side that are currently posing as a museum could be made available for people to work in quietly. Librarian was also rude to an elderly gentleman whilst I was there, dismissive and too keen to return to idle chit-chat with her colleague (thank you for sharing your work gripes with me and everyone else within shouting distance btw). Ironically the best days to visit seem to be a Monday where the place is ran by volunteers and closes at lunch-time.
