Particular gallery. There are a few paintings to see. In probably 4 different rooms.
A lovely building and gallery space in a vibrant part of London. Hopefully, we’ll be able to visit again next year when life gets back to normal.
I enjoyed the free display - booked online this Thursday but was able to book just before visit- then stayed and bought ticket for the painting show. A relaxing visit with measures in place that made it feel safe and comfortable under current circumstances. Lovely staff. The painting show wasn't to my personal taste but enjoyed the room about their process and then a conversation with an invigilator really brought out interest in what I was looking at (thank you to the man who talked about the Moseley paintings). A really nice first gallery visit post lock down.
Whitechapel is a contemplative gallery, there's always something thought provoking in the free spaces if you don't want to pay for the main exhibition. The work can be challenging but delivered in a calm space. The audio-visual viewing room never disappoints. The collections are always refreshingly curated, with a cool shop and cafe thrown in.
