Surprised by this little place that has various walks and small man made mounds so you can get a nice view including towards Ely cathedral. Plenty of animals to see and an information centre to learn about them, handy for kids. There are also various hides about the place for keeping under cover. There aren't any cafe shops or services so come prepared and there are two small car parks but the larger of the two is a field so tends to get very boggy if there is rain. I felt the owners or council could do better at creating a less boggy entrance hence 4 star rating for an otherwise stellar place.

Very nice nature reserve. Many areas and benches to have a picnic. I saw some den building attempts in the woods. It's great for children because it doesn't take a day to walk around the reserve. It took 2 hours for us with a 3.5 yrs old.

We loved it here, drove a couple of hours for a beautiful walk and picnic. Just be mindful of having a picnic with small children as other dog walkers don't always have full control of unleashed dogs. We had a very hungry Labrador charge towards us while we were seated on a picnic blanket by the river. I fended the dog away from myself and my 4 year old but my wife's lunch was gone within a couple of seconds... we laugh about it now but it would be nice if dogs could be kept on leads, especially as a nature reserve.

Very muddy! Lovely circular walk which took about 1hr. Visitor centre is closed currently. They will be introducing car parking fees soon but it's currently free parking and access. It is possible to walk from there to Ely which apparently takes about 2½ hrs so we will try that sometime.
