Situated alongside the Iscoyd Brook, the somewhat isolated St Mary's Parish Church, Whitewell, Whitchurch, SY13 3AN, Wales is not terribly well signposted and, if you're not alert, you're likely to scoot past the turn-off.
The "White Well" from which the settlement takes its name is located south of the churchyard. There has been a chapel on the site since 1570 but present church is a whitewashed brick building constructed in 1830, with a spire and clock added later in 1898.
We journeyed to St Mary's Church in Nov-2013 to attended a family wedding and the isolated church location and period building and its splendid internal architecture certainly added to make it a joyful ceremony, allied to weather that was particularly clement for November.
Beautiful little church in a beautiful part of the country. Hard to find though.

Lovely church with a very unusual layout inside, Maltese Cross.
Stunning little church and so romantic. Went here for a wedding and a beautiful peaceful place to visit.
