During the pandemic the school has been amazing with my daughter, they have been really understanding and have gone above and beyond. I can't thank them enough for everything they have done to support us. Thank you sua

Let's start with education. The facilities while I was there was top notch, like they were amazing, especially the computers as they were very practical and very comfortable to use. Teaching on the otherhand...hmm..well..cant say much about that. I had a bad experience. We had to do and write it how THEY wanted it, but to me and other students wasn't understanding it very well which made us misbehave and faff around because we was stressed out and clearly didn't understand it. As a former student I clearly wasn't happy there and because of the education I got i just about managed to make it into college with the grades I had, and im sure if anyone that went to this school with me, could say the same/similar. Nowadays students need to do more practical activities or something to look forward to when going into a lesson as half of the students are practical learners and a test needs to be done before hand so that staff are able to understand how students learn in their style. You can't expect every student to have the same learning style and sadly thats something I never had at this school. Moving on. Let's put it this way. Unless you want your kid to be bullied and have the head of year do nothing about it, then go here. Im 21 now and I attended when I was 15-16 and I was bullied by a lot of people because I was classed as "different" in the eyes of other students. Im not going to put this lightly because i want to share my experience. i was bullied thoughout my time at Stafford University Academy and during the time of my attendance, I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and paranoia, half the time i was bullied, i self harmed because I was angry and upset that it was my fault for being different. To this day i still have those scars and sadly it reminds me of the school everytime I look at them. ANYWAY, So obviously I told the head of year that I was being bullied but id get nothing back about the problem other than suggesting i go to counselling and so I was continued to be bullied by the same people. I'm not telling anyone how to run a school, im just adding suggestion. For example, the first day of school, of course an introduction but why not have a huge assembly explaining that everyone is different in their personal life, personality and how they act and have their own way of expressing themselves (within reason). Id hate to have someone end up like how I am today for 2 simple reasons 1 is that neither of my diagnosis is nice to live with. And the other reason is because of students not being educated enough to know that humans won't ever be the same and for staff to dismiss kids that are being bullied for them not to do anything about it. Yes, some staff were lovely but others made it feel like they didn't care about the mental state of students that affect their work. (By the way, the catering teacher back in 2017 was amazing!! Everyone who took catering as an option loved her. OH and the music/drama teacher too!!)
