I was looking for a decorator to paper my hall, landing and stairs when I saw the company "True Colours" advertising City & Guilds Certified, over 30 years experience, wallpaper specialist and work guaranteed. I was impressed when Brian, from the company, arrived on time on the Saturday morning and worked a full day. However, on the Sunday he announced at 2pm that he was finishing early, going away and would return on FRIDAY. Upon checking upstairs where he was working he had left 5 to 6 pieces of paper already pasted and draped over the decorating table. I contacted him at home and he was unable to explain why he had done this but insisted it was ok. Friday arrived and when I questioned him on the mess he had left behind he seemed quite surpised that I was unhappy. I also had a list of things to be put right. The papering was ok but the finish where the wall and skirting met was shabby and not at all professional. He had mis-matched the pattern on a wall that he thought I would not notice. If I had noticed it earlier I would have stopped the cheque. There was no need to mis-match as there was plenty of paper available. NO Brian, of 'True Colours' I would not recommend you to anyone.
