Stopped here for lunch. Had a wonderful meal by the fireplace. We were on our Honeymoon so we were treated to a few tastings by the amazing Colin. Brilliant stop, highly recommend.
If you only have time to visit one distillery, this should be it. The 80 minute tour is very comprehensive. The cafe at the visitor center has a good lunch menu.
If you plan on visiting the Glenfiddich distillery you will gain a great experience, which includes a tour where they start with a video of the distillery's history and then they walk you through the various steps of the whole process. From the harvesting of the barley to the bottling of the final product. At the end of the tour, you have the chance of tasting three different whiskeys, a 12 year old, a 15 and an 18. In the compound you will also find a bar and a whiskey shop.
We loved the tour of the distillery.
People in there look passionate and proud of their product, and give you very good explanations of the way the factory was build and what makes their whiskey so special.
Definitely worth going there for the tour (tasting included), and for lunch !
Please note that the poor drivers will not be forgotten and can leave with a small bottle so you can taste it later!
Loved the tour! Good to understand the history and all the efforts that go into making of their beautiful whiskies. We did the Solera tour where we got to make our own version of the Glenfiddich 15yo whisky at the end! Staff was very friendly too.
